Come and witness the world premiere of the Gilles Fortier equestrian acrobatic spectacle ‘PHOENIX’ at the Liverpool International Horse Show 2018.
The bespoke creation and choreography feature beautifully skilled horses, breath-taking stunt action and a pyrotechnic display of epic proportions.
Gilles Fortier has a reputation that is unrivalled in the equestrian world. His unique skill in schooling some of the most spectacular horses and in using them to create magnificent showpieces has resulted in an unsurpassed entertainment experience.
PHOENIX promises to be classic Fortier with a twist of the innovative and original and will use all the skills of his team of acrobats (including family members) and the finest horses in his stables. His son Thomas Fortier comments ‘This is a huge opportunity for us to showcase our events in the UK and we are very excited to have been given the chance to create and premiere a piece especially for the Liverpool International Horse Show. We have a veritable equestrian playground in which to create and showcase our art – we love it!’
Said Show President, Nina Barbour: “Each year we strive to bring new and innovative entertainment to the show and we are delighted that Gilles agreed to create and premiere a new show especially for us. His style is legendary, and I know that his spectacle will take the show to another level of unsurpassed entertainment’
This is only Fortier’s third visit to the UK and the first time that a commission will see it’s premiere here. The vision of the Liverpool Horse Show is to create a world-class equestrian event coupled with the finest family entertainment and this is never more evident than in the inspired decision by Nina Barbour to invite Fortier to Liverpool. Each year the show grows in stature and popularity and the 2018 programme will include world-class equestrian sport, the fast and furious Arena FMX team and some fabulous live music. Another premiere for this year, the Ride and Drive where four legs join with four wheels to compete against the clock.
